Green Abundance By Design

 Ecological Landscape Supervisor

About This Role:

You're not just managing crews, you're leading ecological transformation.

As an Ecological Landscape Supervisor at Green Abundance by Design, you'll lead field crews in transforming suburban landscapes from ecological liabilities into thriving native habitats. You'll oversee native plant installations, invasive species management projects, and landscape care—ensuring every property we touch becomes healthier, more biodiverse, and more resilient.

This is leadership work with purpose. You'll guide 2-5 person crews through detailed restoration projects, teaching ecological principles and practical skills while ensuring quality execution. Your decisions directly impact both the landscapes we restore and the team members you develop.

Whether you're an experienced landscaping professional ready to lead with an ecological focus or someone with strong crew leadership skills looking for work that creates measurable environmental impact—this role offers real responsibility, genuine stability, and the opportunity to shape both landscapes and careers.

Why We Built This Differently:

Eleven years ago, we founded Green Abundance by Design with a vision: Transition the landscaping industry ethos toward ecological abundance, while providing genuine career sustainability for our team.

Traditional landscaping is built on long hours, seasonal uncertainty, weekend work, and burnout. We refused to accept that as the only model.

We've proven there's another way.

By focusing on specialized ecological services, operating from Abundance rather than scarcity, and charging appropriately for the premium work we deliver, we've built a model that works:

  • 52 weeks of salary while working approximately 45 weeks

  • 8+ weeks paid time off (no unpaid winter layoffs)

  • 40-hour work weeks with no weekend work

  • Year-round financial stability even though fieldwork is seasonal

  • Real investment in your development with training, licensing support, and mentorship

We call our operating principles B.A.A.S.E.D. because we believe businesses should be built on something solid:

Balance between meaningful work and a full life outside of it
Accountability at all levels—for results, safety, and integrity
Abundance in how we think, plan, and value our work
Stewardship of land and people
Excellence in craft, science, and execution
Diversity of ecosystems, perspectives, and ideas

Why This Role Matters (for You):

You'll lead work that actually matters. Every project you oversee restores native plant communities, increases biodiversity, and creates functional habitat. You'll see the direct environmental results of your leadership—landscapes transforming, wildlife returning, and ecosystems healing. If you need your leadership to have purpose beyond profit margins, this delivers.

You'll develop people, not just manage them. We believe in Stewardship of both land and team members. You'll mentor technicians, teach ecological principles, and help crew members build valuable skills. Strong supervisors create opportunities for their teams to grow, and we support that through training resources, professional development, and clear advancement pathways.

You'll work with intention, not exhaustion. Unlike traditional landscaping's grind culture, we've built something different: 40-hour weeks, 8+ weeks paid time off, no weekend work, and 52 weeks of salary while working only 45 weeks. Leadership shouldn't mean sacrificing your life. That's Balance.

You'll be trusted with real autonomy. We give supervisors genuine ownership of their projects and crews. You'll make decisions, solve problems, and lead with Accountability. In return, we provide the support, resources, and respect you need to succeed.
